Parks for a Better Living International Congress Bogotá

What impact do the parks for a better living?

We have all enjoyed as children or have fun as grown-ups in a park to feel alive. Running after a ball, walking without worries, jogging to stay in good shape, biking or roller skating, having a family picnic or sitting in the sun while the afternoon falls are simple privileges and within easy reach.

If any city has the moral authority to defend, love, care for and project parks, it is Bogotá. There are 5,029 parks that oxygenate the capital. Mayor Enrique Peñalosa’s administration is transforming the city parks for the full enjoyment of the inhabitants. During his administration, on average:

  • One park every 3 days
  • One sport’s arena every 12 days
  • One playground every 7 days
  • One zone/area of gyms every 10 days have been intervened.

For this reason we invite you to join the International Parks Congress in Bogotá, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá. We already have date, venue, agenda and topics and a series of outstanding international speakers.

We invite you to submit your abstract to be part of the Professional Lecturers group, we want you to share success stories that have transformed people’s lives and projects where parks have helped create better cities.
